The records are already falling at the 2026 Alice Springs Masters Games, with three new marks set in the field events!
Daryl Ellis leapt into the record books with a 9.24m triple jump in the men's 70–79 category, bettering the previous record of 8.06m set in 1998. In the women's 80–89 shot put, Rhondda Dundas set a new mark of 6.13m, surpassing the previous record of 5.68m. Not to be outdone, Garry Rayner delivered an impressive 8.03m throw in the men's 80–89 shot put, edging past the previous record of 7.93m.
A huge congratulations to all three athletes on their outstanding achievements — proving that records are made to be broken, no matter your age!
