Clay target shooting is more than just a sport for the Niland family — it's a tradition spanning generations.
Jim Niland Senior has been part of every Alice Springs Masters Games where clay target shooting has featured, even taking on the role of sport coordinator in years gone by.
Now, he's passing his passion for the sport on to his grandson, Jim Niland Junior, who has proudly taken on the title of the youngest volunteer at the 2026 Games!
Inspired by his grandfather, Jim Junior has developed a love for clay target shooting and is already looking forward to the day he can compete at the Masters Games himself.
From helping run the competition to inspiring the next generation, Jim Senior's contribution is a wonderful example of what makes the Friendly Games so special.
And if Jim Junior has his way, the Niland family tradition will continue for many Games to come!
Like grandfather, like grandson!
