What a way to finish!

After eight days of competition, camaraderie and countless memorable moments, the 2026 Alice Springs Masters Games came to a close with a celebration worthy of its 40th anniversary.

The Closing Ceremony at Lasseters brought competitors, supporters and friends together for one final night of music, laughter and celebration.

Territory talent Casii Williams and Australian favourites Sneaky Sound System were on the entertainment line-up, providing the perfect soundtrack to round out a remarkable week.

And there was certainly plenty to celebrate.

Across Alice Springs, competitors have pushed themselves, chased personal bests, broken records and proudly added to their medal collections.

But this year's Games have also shown us something beyond the sporting results.

It's been a week of resilience, remarkable performances and plenty of reasons to smile.

As we marked four decades of the Friendly Games, the Closing Ceremony was a fitting reminder of what makes this event so special: people from all walks of life coming together through a shared love of sport.

To everyone who joined us for the 2026 Games, thank you for being part of another memorable chapter.

Forty years on, the Friendly Games are still going strong. What a way to end it all off!
